Endorsement: Daily Herald recommends Yingling over Idstein for Illinois House District 62
In the race for Illinois House District 62, which covers Grayslake, the Round Lake and portions of Gurnee Wauconda, incumbent Democrat Sam Yingling of Grayslake is being challenged by Ken Idstein, a mortgage broker from Grayslake.
Both candidates strongly see the need for property tax relief for homeowners and businesses. Idstein supports lowering and capping property taxes, as well as the establishment of a flat-rate income tax. Yingling notes his support of increasing exemptions for homeowners, seniors and veterans, and we appreciate his record working to consolidating government entities.
Yingling has grown in the job and shown a solid record of support for his constituents. We endorse him.
