An asset to COD, state

Deanne Mazzochi's appointment to the Illinois General Assembly is strictly an interim appointment subject to ratification by the voters in her district this November. She stated publicly in the July 16, 2018 edition of the Daily Herald that "... she will resign from her COD seat if she's elected to a full term as a state representative."

Her service to COD is definitely needed as the college embarks on a major academic reorganization and new educational initiatives. In my almost 40 years of public service as a elected village trustee, I can honestly say that I have been totally impressed by Ms. Mazzochi's analytical skills, leadership abilities, and intellectual insight. Traits that have made her a valuable asset to the COD Board of Trustees and will make her a welcome addition to the membership of the Illinois General Assembly.
