Why president must be stopped

Do realize that I am just a neighborhood guy and although I believe my commentary has merit, my voice can only be heard when all our voices are heard collectively. With this in mind, I reference President Donald Trump's recent and very offensive tweet as he responded to the LeBron James interview conducted by CNN host Don Lemon.

CNN was honoring the opening of LeBron James and his charity's "I Promise" public school for at-risk youths. In response to LeBron's comment that the Trump administration tends to be divisive, Trump tweeted, " LeBron was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon … He made LeBron look smart which isn't easy to do."

The backdrop of this comment is reflected in the litany of vulgarities Trump has relentlessly tacked onto selected persons, sacred institutions, and time-honored ideologies. The immorality in his rhetoric is now in overdrive. (Our children hear this.)

No one has been able to stop him.

But plenty have been able to ignore and forget. My utter disgust and unrest is now beyond him and his words. It resides in our leaders" refusal to stand up and say, "enough."

This Trumpian engine of "Wrestle Mania" type bullishness, confrontation and hate has to stop.

How can anyone, no matter party affiliation, hear his verbal abuse and not demand it cease and desist? America reveres the presidency, Trump is destroying it.

Finally, let us never forget what Trump said about Mr. LeBron James and Mr. Don Lemon and what he may say about whomever and whatever is next. We must say, "Never Again" and collectively as responsible citizens work the democratic process and stop him.
