Rescue again shows the power of will

It was August 2010 when 33 Chilean miners were trapped inside a mine near Copiapo for 69 days. I do not know when the efforts to rescue them evolved into a massive international effort, with experts from all over the world contributing to the miracle that ensued in the end.

On July 4, 1976, what seemed to be another impossible rescue of 104 Jewish passengers who were condemned to die by a radical Palestinian terror group in Entebbe, Uganda, an intense and fast brain storming took place within the Israeli army, searching to find out how to get those passengers out of that airport while they were surrounded by both the terrorists and the Idi Amin army that was supporting the terror group. Within a week of horror, the passengers were home safely due to a brilliant rescue plan that caught the Ugandan soldiers by surprise. One elderly woman, Dora Bloch, was murdered at the hospital as she was taken there earlier and was targeted by Amin to be killed. Also the brother of Israel's now prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was killed.

Likewise, the event in Thailand demonstrates that when good people come together and put their knowledge and expertise together, once again, a miracle happened. With the victims being children, the pace with which those hundreds of volunteers worked, was much enhanced.

Such actions teach us that if there is a will, then there is a way out.
