Welfare dependency supports subculture

I've just read some articles on black progress in the U.S. The articles are in response to Black History Month. As a black man, I take great pride in the progress of blacks in America. What concerns me however, is the state of America's black subculture (generational welfare recipients). Progress is not predicted there.

America's black subculture is like the young lady who became ill and was waited on by her well-meaning mother to the extreme. The daughter had to do so little for herself that she became dependent and quite comfortable in her mother's care. When the daughter regained her health, she pretended to be ill so that she could continue to have everything done for her by her well-meaning mother. One day the mother died. The daughter then got out of bed and went to work and became self-supporting.

An abundance of well-meaning welfare programs robs the black subculture of dignity and keeps them dependent on the government. I pray that one day, some brave leaders will take away those well-meaning welfare programs that do for citizens what citizens can easily do for themselves.

I am convinced that when that brave deed is done, there will finally be progress for the black subculture. When those well-meaning welfare programs die, many subculture blacks will get up, go to work, and become self-supporting.
