Pension fix is up to citizens

You're right to ask Democrats running for governor to admit that out of control costs are as important as mismanagement in creating the Illinois pension crisis. The problem, however, isn't limited to Democrats. Republicans are also sweeping this under the rug because many benefit too.

We won't get a solution until more people recognize that public employees have a conflict of interest when it comes to pension reform and therefore can't be depended on to do it. Once we accept that, it becomes necessary for a group of regular citizens to work to make a change in the state constitution that will stop the unbearable financial abuse of the citizens of Illinois.
