Just go after the billionaires

There have been letters to the editor recently regarding the tax plan which would indicate the rich are going to take advantage of the middle class and poor. People paying the most taxes would get the biggest breaks and people paying the least would get less. How is that fair?

The sentiment is that "the rich don't need a tax cut."

In addition, these tax cuts will take food out of the mouths of the poor and harm the economy. Also, we have many problems that need government oversight, so government can never do with less because government is wise and caring and knows what is best for us little people.

This tax cut is supposed to give rise to $1.5 trillion in additional debt which is bad. On the other hand, debt from additional spending like the ACA is always good.

Given these concerns and the eloquent arguments of those that do not want the tax plan passed, I have now been converted to their thinking.

However, I do not believe taxing the income of the rich is going to do much for the treasury.

We need to be more bold. In the spirit of helping the unfortunate and "the rich don't need a tax cut," I propose we take all assets that any individual has in excess of a billion dollars.

After all who needs that much money? If we leave them with a billion it's not like they will starve.

Bloomberg is worth $47 billion, Ellison $52 billion, Zuckerberg $56 billion, Bezos $73 billion, Buffet $75 billion, Gates $86 billion and Soros $8 billion.

Do the math. How many starving children could be helped? How many poor could get "free" health care?
