U.S. not even worth standing during anthem?

I guess Sept. 24th's showing around the National Football League makes it official that the NFL players and owners, as an organization, believe that the United States is not worthy of even the most basic honor of standing during the playing of the national anthem.

Some have thrown out excuses saying this isn't about disrespect for the flag or the country. Any veteran can tell you otherwise. When these privileged individuals choose to kneel, or not even show up, they are showing disrespect not only for the flag, but also for the people of the United States represented by that flag.

The obvious solution to the NFL's problem is to simply remove the US flag from its stadiums and cease playing the national anthem. That way the owners and players who feel oppressed by the presence of that odious banner can free themselves of the hypocrisy of even having to pretend they care about this nation
