Give independent parties a chance

I see and hear all the media industry is talking about the presidential election coming up in a very few weeks.

I've also noticed that there seems to be a little concern in the people whether we have a good choice in the two major parties.

Well, let's see who's shocked to find out that this November we have more than two choices for the world's most powerful office.

We actually have seven choices. Anyone can see the choices at about.com.

Look to see if any of them suit your voting needs better than the two parties that are just the same old stories that we have always heard every four years, just blaming each other and making us, the people, pay the price for their mistakes as political leaders.

We just can't blame the parties. We the people need to look in the mirror and say "Did I take my responsibility seriously? Did I take the time to make a truly informed choice? Did I truly look at all the options I had and look at them with an open and honest mind?"

I think not.

The media that is covering the two major parties has not at all done it's job to bring us all the information they can.

Maybe these other parties don't have the big war chests the big two have, but media has a legal obligation to give fair and equal time.

So I guess what I'm asking this paper is how about giving the Green Party or the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party or the two independents some coverage.

Stop what now seems to be a bunch of fluff stories on the election and let the people vote outside the box of the two major parties

There is a chance for some real change than the same old stories and blame games we've heard for decades.

In 2004, the independent populous vote was 11 percent for the first time in our history as a nation.

We the people need to take a real close look at our presidential election this year as well as our state elections.
