Nominees sought for BBB 2023 Torch Awards

The Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois said nominations are now open for the bureau's most distinguished business recognition, the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics.

Considered one of the most powerful business brand-building awards, the Torch Awards are only given to about 10 businesses a year in the region. The awards are open to all for-profit Chicago and Northern Illinois-based businesses that have been in operation for three years or more. For younger companies in business for one to three years, there is also a Firestarter Award as a part of the Torch contest.

"The Torch Award is the highest honor the Better Business Bureau can present to a company," says Steve J. Bernas, president & CEO of the BBB. "Torch Award winners consistently demonstrate the highest ethical standards of ethics toward customers, employees and the communities in which they do business."

Businesses will be evaluated for ethics and integrity based on four key criteria: character, culture, customers and community.

Nominations are accepted at bbb.org/chicagobuzz. The entry deadline is Friday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m.
