Antunes partners with WeLoveU Foundation to clean up Carol Stream pond

Antunes, a custom food service equipment manufacturer in Carol Stream, recently partnered with the International WeLoveU Foundation to clean up the Gary-Kehoe Reservoir.

Volunteers from the International WeLoveU Foundation, Antunes employees, and local community members worked to clean up the area around the reservoir, improving both its appearance and environmental health.

Antunes has been tending to the Gary-Kehoe pond for more than 13 years, upholding its commitment to environmental stewardship.

This year, volunteers undertook a significant cleanup task. They collected more than 30 bags of trash, which included items like discarded tires and several signs. The broad range of waste items collected served as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by local ecosystems due to pollution.

Among the attendees were Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino, Engineering Secretary Ann Santucci, and Assistant Village Engineer Adam Frederick.

This collaboration supports the International WeLoveU Foundation's “Clean WORLD” initiative and Antunes' commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

Since 2022, the WeLoveU Foundation has planted nearly 1,250 trees and, since 2021, removed 109,116 pounds of litter from the environment.
