Woods rear-mount mowers score well in study

ELGIN - A recent independent study commissioned by Woods found that two of its rear-mount finish mowers outperformed three major competitors, the company said.

During the study, four different models of 60-inch standard mowers and 72-inch commercial mowers were evaluated for cut quality across a mature stand of Dakota tall fescue grass. Researchers experienced in turfgrass management mowed the grass plots on a weekly basis over a period of four and a half months. The research team evaluated the plots according to three cut quality characteristics.

Woods' TurfKeeper TK60.20 and TurfKeeper Pro TKP 72.40 rear-mount finish mowers outperformed three competitive brands, including Land Pride and Bush Hog, in overall cut quality, Woods said.

For over 75 years, Woods has manufactured quality precision cutting and agricultural tractor attachments. Woods, a brand of Oregon Tool's ag, turf and construction business, is headquartered in Elgin.

"The TurfKeeper and TurfKeeper Pro deliver the results that farmers, groundskeepers, commercial landscapers and large property owners desire from their mowers," said Ed Lang, product manager at Woods.
