Valent BioSciences launches new unit
LIBERTYVILLE - Valent BioSciences LLC said it began selling biostimulant products directly to its U.S. customer base on Oct 1. The new operating unit was established in February and is now fully operational, the company said.
Biostimulants can be used to sustainably improve agricultural crop performance and return on investment, Valent BioSciences said.
The new biostimulant business team and sales force are focused on discovering, developing and commercializing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi products, among other biostimulants, to sustainably maximize retailer and grower profitability, the company said.
"We have more than 60 years of broad biorational crop enhancement expertise, and this launch incorporates the next generation of tools to help our customers succeed," said Salman Mir, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Valent BioSciences.
Libertyville-based Valent BioSciences is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd., and is the worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and commercialization of biorational products, with sales in 95 countries.
