Heritage-Crystal Clean buys Patriot Environmental

ELGIN - Heritage-Crystal Clean Inc. Thursday said it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Patriot Environmental Services Inc., headquartered in Long Beach, California.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Patriot specializes in a variety of waste services across the Western U.S., including emergency and oil spill response and industrial services. It serves customers in the manufacturing, agriculture, construction, health care, mining, oil and gas, transportation and utilities markets.

"With the addition of Patriot's two wastewater treatment facilities, we will have ten wastewater treatment facilities throughout our network, thereby strengthening our national wastewater vacuum platform," said Brian Recatto, Heritage-Crystal Clean's president and CEO.

Patriot also possesses other nonhazardous waste processing capabilities that will reduce the company's logistics and disposal costs in the Western U.S. while improving Heritage-Crystal Clean ability to compete in the larger quantity, industrial generator market, he said.

Heritage-Crystal Clean is a leading provider of parts cleaning, used oil refining, and hazardous and nonhazardous waste services, primarily focused on small- and mid-size customers.
