Illinois Tollway awards $223 million in contracts

DOWNERS GROVE - A Des Plaines contractor Thursday was awarded a $145 million Illinois Tollway project as part of seven contracts approved by the tollway board.

Lorig Construction Co. in Des Plaines received a $145.4 million contract for roadway and bridge construction for the new I-490 Tollway between Franklin Avenue and Irving Park Road (Route 19), the tollway said.

The contract was among seven construction and professional engineering services projects totaling more than $223 million approved by the board. Other suburban contractors awarded work are:

• A $21.1 million contract to Judlau Contracting Inc., Lisle, for construction of the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge over Grand Avenue on the Tri-State Tollway.

• A $2.1 million contract to Rausch Infrastructure, Des Plaines, for noise-reduction wall repair on the Veterans Memorial Tollway between 83rd Street and Army Trail Road.

• A $15.9 million contract to the team of Bowman Consulting Group, Lisle; OSEH, Wheaton; and Alfred Benesch Co., Naperville, for construction management services for roadway reconstruction and widening of the Tri-State Tollway between Ogden Avenue and Cermak Road.

• A $13 million contract to the team of AECOM Technical Services, Chicago, and SE3, Lisle, for construction management services related to reconstruction and widening of the Tri-State Tollway between Flagg Creek and the Hinsdale Oasis.
