Lou Malnati's Pizzeria opening soon in Gurnee

GURNEE - Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, based in Northbrook, is set to open its newest location in Gurnee on Monday, May 9.

The 2,100-square-foot restaurant at 4949 Grand Ave. will offer carryout and delivery service only.

The new pizzeria is situated in a multitenant retail building, adjacent to Gurnee Donuts, the Honey Baked Ham Co. and Jalisco Restaurant at Grand Mills Plaza.

Malnati's will hire approximately 50 local employees for the location, which is near Six Flags Great America, Great Wolf Lodge and Gurnee Mills, serving residents of Waukegan, Wadsworth and surrounding suburbs.

The Malnati family has become famous for their original deep dish pizza recipe since opening in 1971. The company is still owned and operated by second-generation family members as Lou Malnati's son, Marc Malnati, proudly carries on the business tradition.
