New wine, spirits distribution center coming to suburbs

ROMEOVILLE - Republic National Distributing Company, or RNDC, one of the largest distributors of premium wines and spirits in the country, will soon open a distribution center in Romeoville, the city said Thursday.

RNDC will also bring nearly 60 jobs to the community. The center will be RNDC's first Chicago-area facility.

The 351,000-square-foot space RNDC has leased was designed to be energy-efficient, with elements such as LED lights with motion sensors, Dark-Sky compliant exterior lighting, R-30 roof insulation and more. The building is near the intersection of Route 53 and Joliet Road, the city said.

"We are happy to welcome RNDC to Romeoville and are excited for the new employment opportunities they are bringing for our residents," said Mayor John Noak. "It is refreshing to see RNDC not only embrace, but take pride in, the latest energy efficiencies the building is outfitted with."

The facility is expected to be open by the end of February with delivery operations to begin in April.
