Kidd named to 2021 CPA '40 Under 40' list

LINCOLNSHIRE — Michael Kidd, consulting partner at Mowery & Schoenfeld, was named as one of the 2021 CPA Practice Advisor's “40 under 40” professionals.

Kidd, who is also director of Transaction Advisory Services for the accounting firm, joined Mowery & Schoenfeld upon graduation from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005 as an associate in the assurance practice. He immediately found he had a keen interest in the financial complexities of business transaction.

After becoming a partner in 2013, Kidd started the firm's Transaction Advisory Services practice in 2017. Transaction Advisory now makes up 6.5% of the firm's revenue with 30% year-over-year growth in 2020.

The practice focuses on providing buy- and sell-side support to the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) community. Kidd participates in several conferences and speaking engagements through the year at top-tier MBA programs, helping to guide a new generation of entrepreneurs.

“I remember handing Michael his offer letter and knowing he would be an important addition for our firm. For all of the years we've worked together, Mike remains focused on exceptional client service, the growth of our firm, and technical expertise,” said managing partner Jeffery Mowery.

CPA Practice Advisor's 40 Under 40 Awards spotlight the top practicing public accountants, educators and thought leaders age 40 and younger who are leading their profession by visibly and incrementally changing the accounting profession through their exemplary leadership, their innovative thinking, their collaborative efforts to provide unity to the profession across the generations, and their community outreach that extends the visibility of the profession outside the workplace.
