Suburban contractors awarded tollway projects

DOWNERS GROVE — The Illinois Tollway this week approved six construction and professional engineering services contracts totaling $49.1 million, including those to a number of suburban contractors.

December construction contract awards include:

• A $37.8 million contract to Judlau Contracting Inc., Lisle, for railroad retaining wall construction for the new I-490 Tollway between the Bensenville Railroad Yard and Irving Park Road.

• A $4.1 million contract to Martam Construction Inc., Elgin, for roadway reconstruction and bridge rehabilitation on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) at the Ogden Avenue Interchange.

• A $2.9 million contract to Aldridge Electric Inc., Libertyville, for overhead sign structure and dynamic message sign improvements systemwide.

• A $2.3 million professional engineering services contract to the team of Ciorba Group Inc., Chicago, and Peralte-Clark, Arlington Heights, for design services for the reconstruction of portions of York Road and Supreme Drive as part of the I-490 Tollway Project.

In all, 62 construction and professional engineering services contracts totaling more than $758 million have been approved by the Tollway Board in 2021.
