National fitness club chain to expand in Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE - The Edge Fitness Clubs, headquartered in Connecticut, Tuesday said it will open its third Chicago-area location in April at 800 Cog Circle in Crystal Lake.

The new, 40,000-square-foot fitness club will be next to Menards and across the street from Chick-fil-A. Other state locations are in Naperville and Orland Hills.

The club will offer personal training, group exercise classes, a fully equipped women's only fitness studio, an indoor turf area with sprint lanes and specialized training equipment.

"The Northwest suburbs of Chicago are growing tremendously and we are extremely proud to be able to bring our extraordinary fitness facility to this incredible community," said Domenica Giancaterino, general manager of The Edge Fitness Clubs Crystal Lake.

Founded in 1988, The Edge Fitness Clubs currently has 38 locations in nine states.
