Algonquin to offer third round of business relief funding

The village of Algonquin was awarded $350,000 in funding from Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to distribute to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-serve basis as a one-time grant at the beginning of the year.

At this time, the village has been given approval to open an additional round of funding to eligible businesses through 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19.

Anticipated grant amounts will vary and are intended to be paid within the range of $15,000 to $25,000, proportional to the amount of documented losses.

Village staff will review applications and award grant funds to eligible businesses that complete an application and submit required documentation.

If funding levels are depleted prior to the closing date, the application period will be closed. It is important that interested applicants submit their application materials as soon as possible.

Due to current program requirements, businesses located in Kane County are not eligible for funding through the Algonquin Impacted Business Relief Program.

Businesses located in Kane County that are seeking relief due to business interruptions caused by the COVID-19 emergency must do so through opportunities provided through Kane County. Please direct any inquiries regarding funding opportunities through Kane County at www.countyofkane.org.

Eligible businesses should: review the program guidelines and applications instructions with the Algonquin Impacted Business Relief Program; and complete the required grant application.

Submit completed applications by before 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. However, businesses are encouraged to apply as soon as possible since funding will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Completed application packages may be delivered to the village manager's office at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive, on Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
