Pactiv Evergreen appoints chief operations officer

LAKE FOREST - Pactiv Evergreen Inc. Tuesday said Douglas "Doug" Owenby will join the company as chief operations officer, effective Sept. 13.

Owenby joins Pactiv Evergreen from Graham Packaging where he has served as chief operations officer since 2018. Prior to joining Graham Packaging, Doug served as chief operating officer for Nexteer Automotive and in various executive leadership roles with Benteler Automotive, BorgWarner Automotive and Bombardier Recreation Products.

In his newly created role, Owenby will be responsible for all Pactiv Evergreen operating functions globally, assuming the operations leadership responsibilities that Mike Ragen, Pactiv Evergreen's Chief financial officer, accepted in 2018. He will report to CEO Mike King.

"Doug has more than 30 years of business and operational leadership experience that will be invaluable for Pactiv Evergreen," King said.

Pactiv Evergreen is one of the largest manufacturers of fresh food and beverage packaging in North America, with a team of nearly 15,000 employees.
