CDW profit up 18% in second quarter

LINCOLNSHIRE - CDW Corp. said gross profit in the second quarter of 2021 was $883 million, compared to $747 million for the second quarter of 2020, representing an increase of 18.2%.

In reporting financial results for its fiscal year second quarter, CDW said total net sales for the first six months of 2021 were $9.9 billion, compared to $8.7 billion for the same period last year, an increase of 14%.

CDW, a leading provider of computers and information technology solutions to business, government, education and health care customers in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, also said its board of directors has approved a quarterly cash dividend of 40 cents per share to be paid on Sept. 10 to all stockholders of record as of the close of business on Aug. 25.

"We delivered a record quarter with outstanding net sales performance and excellent profitability, reinforcing confidence in our strategy and the strength of our business model," said Christine A. Leahy, president and chief executive officer. "Demand from commercial customers increased sharply as economies rebounded and customers turned to CDW for expertise across the full technology solutions stack. Our teams helped customers orchestrate critical digital transformation initiatives, bolster security frameworks and make investments to enable in-person and hybrid models."
