Barnes & Noble plans move to Algonquin Commons this fall

Barnes & Noble plans on moving out of its West Dundee location, and into the Algonquin Commons, later this year.

One of the country's largest retail booksellers, Barnes & Noble announced Thursday it plans on relocating from Spring Hill Mall Shopping Center to the Algonquin Commons in October.

The company did not provide an exact address for the new bookstore in a news release marking the announcement. A public relations representative from Barnes & Noble could not be reached for comment.

"The new bookstore will showcase a fresh design and layout with a focus on providing a warm and welcoming environment for browsing along with a locally-tailored selection curated by our expert booksellers," according to the release.

To prepare its move to Algonquin on Oct. 6, the West Dundee Barnes & Noble will close on Oct. 5.

The new store will include a Barnes & Noble Café, serving Starbucks coffee along with a selection of pastries, according to the release.

Other Barnes and Noble locations in the area include one in Deer Park at 20600 N. Rand Road, and one in Woodfield Village Green at 1470B East Golf Road in Schaumburg.

The former Barnes & Noble in Crystal Lake closed in August 2019 to the dismay of many customers in the community. It was replaced by a Binny's Beverage Depot, which opened in January 2020.

In total, the company has more than 600 Barnes & Noble bookstores in 50 states, as well as the NOOK Digital business and the e-commerce site, BN.com. General information on Barnes & Noble, Inc. can be found on its website.
