Lombard hosts groundbreaking for $30 million luxury apartments

LOMBARD — Holladay Properties hosted a groundbreaking ceremony recently for Lilac Station, a $30 million luxury apartment complex being built at the corner of Main Street and Parkside Avenue in Lombard.

The building will feature 118 residences in a variety of studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom layouts. Residents will enjoy amenities such as a 15,000-square-foot deck with a firepit, pet run, game court, outdoor lounge area with TVs and more. A 24-hour fitness center and secure heated parking will also be offered.

In addition, the property will feature an on-site restaurant and is adjacent to the Prairie Food Co-op grocery store. The property is conveniently located near the Lombard Metra station. Construction is slated to be completed in early 2023.

“We are ecstatic to bring a catalytic project like Lilac Station to the community of Lombard. We are confident this development will further activate the vibrant downtown by offering immediate, walkable access to downtown Lombard and its offerings,” said Drew Mitchell, vice president of development and partner at Holladay Properties.

The apartment complex is being resurrected on the site of the old historic DuPage Theatre. The Holladay Properties team has worked hard to preserve the historic elements of the theatre and integrate them into the building.
