Crystal Lake manufacturer buys foundry business

CRYSTAL LAKE - General Kinematics Corp. announced its acquisition of Foundry Equipment Co. in Stanwood, Iowa. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This acquisition solidifies General Kinematics' position as a premier foundry that offers quality, cutting-edge and cost-effective foundry solutions, the company said.

General Kinematics, incorporated in 1960, was established to market, design and custom fabricate materials handling and processing equipment. Today the company is one of the world's largest suppliers of vibration processing equipment.

"This transaction demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strategic investment in resources to ensure we have the required ability and capacity to efficiently provide the best products and service for our customers in this ever-changing global business climate," said John Koufis, chief financial officer of General Kinematics.

Foundry Equipment Co. has 41 years of experience as a foundry system integrator. Its continued focus will be to provide unmatched service and customer satisfaction by delivering turnkey foundry systems, General Kinematics said.
