Fry the Coop to celebrate Prospect Heights opening Monday with free food
Fry the Coop will be giving away one meal per person from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at its new Prospect Heights location at 580 N. Milwaukee Ave.
A soft opening from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday will follow, with the official opening Tuesday, Dec. 1 Hours are noon to 8 p.m. The restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays.
Founded by Joe Fontana in 2017, the chain's five Chicago-area restaurants offer fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, and chicken and waffles with four different levels of spice in what is described as the area's answer to Nashville hot chicken.
Prospect Heights is the first to have drive-up service. The 3,200-square-foot space will have 76 seats in the dining room with additional patio seating outside, but only drive-through, takeout and delivery will be available until COVID-19 restrictions ease. An Elmhurst location opened two years ago.
