CBD store opening in downtown Arlington Heights

The new Hemp CBD Wellness store in downtown Arlington Heights will have its official grand opening Saturday with a ribbon tying and appearance by former Chicago Blackhawks player Daniel Carcillo.

The vitamin and supplements store at 8 E. Northwest Highway will host the event from 1 to 4 p.m. Mayor Tom Hayes, village trustees and Chamber of Commerce directors will be there for the ribbon tying at 1:15 p.m.

Carcillo is the founder of Made Plant Health, a boutique hemp farm. He will talk about mental health, traumatic brain injury and the healing potential of CBD and medicinal mushrooms.

The event will follow Centers for Disease Control and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines related to COVID-19, with masks and social distancing required, officials say.
