Akhan receives first European patent

GURNEE - Akhan Semiconductor has been issued a patent by the European Patent Office for its next-generation N-type diamond semiconductor system and diamond-based multilayer antireflective coating systems.

The systems are used in military and aerospace sensor and detector applications, among other uses.

The patent is another key addition to Akhan's Miraj Diamond intellectual property portfolio, and the company's first European-issued patent.

"Over the past few months, Akhan has been issued a number of patents from around the world, and this latest from the European Union is further proof that we're world leaders in producing diamond technology for semiconductor application," said Adam Khan, founder and CEO of Akhan Semiconductor.
