Victoria's Secret leaves Deer Park Town Center, is quickly replaced

Victoria's Secret has left Deer Park Town Center, but it didn't take the chic mall long to get over the breakup.

Deer Park Town Center marketing coordinator Angelika Fejklowicz said Altar'd State has been secured to move into the Victoria's Secret space. Victoria's Secret, one of the center's original retailers, exited Jan. 5, she said.

Fejklowicz said the former Victoria's Secret will be renovated to accommodate Altar'd State, which sells women's clothing and accessories and touts social causes, such as giving 10% of net proceeds on Mondays directly to local charitable organizations.

A target opening date for Altar'd State was not yet available, Fejklowicz said Monday.

"It's a very exciting addition to the center," she said.

Victoria's Secret, the iconic brand known for lingerie and major fashion events, closed the Deer Park store after parent company L. Brands Inc. could not reach agreement on a new lease, Fejklowicz said.

Deer Park Town Center opened in October 2000. Victoria's Secret was among the first 55 shops and restaurants there.

Columbus, Ohio-based L. Brands has trimmed the number of company-owned Victoria's Secret U.S. locations from 957 in February 2019 to 923 as of Jan. 4, according to a report to investors.

Altar'd State will move into space that Victoria's Secret had occupied since Deer Park Town Center opened in October 2000. Victoria's Secret closed Jan. 5. Paul Valade/pvalade@dailyherald.com
