Big Door to build in Mundelein
MUNDELEIN - Big Door Mundelein LLC will hold a groundbreaking for a new 35-unit garage suite development at 9 a.m. Friday at 1405 Wilhelm Road, Mundelein.
A new concept across the country, garage suites are customizable, owned units that provide a unique space for owners to store collectibles, such as automobiles. At the ceremony, Big Door will showcase details of the project and several of the exotic cars that will ultimately find a home at the development.
Big Door Garage suites will be offered from 560 square feet to 1,500 square feet. Pricing begins at $136,600 and increases based on the size of the unit. Each suite comes equipped with plumbing and includes individual heating and cooling systems and a large overhead door.
The units are set up to be an extension of an owner's home, allowing for full customization. The development also includes an owners' clubhouse with a meeting room, lounge, kitchen and restroom with a shower.
"It has already been well received with over 34% of the site reserved, and once we break ground, we think the rest will be spoken for quickly," said John Victor, principal at Big Door.
