Chamberlain garage devices to allow Amazon deliveries

OAK BROOK - Chamberlain Group, the maker of Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage door opener brands and myQ-connected technology, will enable free in-garage delivery for Amazon Prime members in the Chicago area through the Key by Amazon in-garage delivery solution.

Prime members who have the Chamberlain myQ smart technology in their garages will be able to have Amazon packages left inside the garage, providing a secure, convenient place for package deliveries.

Amazon Key plus myQ smart garage access gives homeowners control over the package delivery process while offering a secure space that's big enough to receive a video game console and takes weather out of the equation to ensure that new pair of shoes stay dry.

Chicago is one of 50 cities throughout the U.S. that will now offer the service.

"The connected home is helping provide secure alternative delivery destinations," said Jeff Meredith, Chamberlain Group President and COO. "And, as a self-contained extension of the home, the smart garage offers a safe and convenient option for package delivery."
