Rodil receives top business woman honors

Gabriela Rodil, CEO of the Oakbrook Terrace-based Gabriela Rodil & Co., has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Female Executive of the Year - Business Services - 10 or Less Employees category in the 15th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run - worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented to winners during a dinner event attended by more than 550 people at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City.

In addition to her role as CEO, Rodil also shares her business expertise in mentoring women in the corporate world and young Latinas through the nonprofit Fig Factor Foundation. She is also a motivational speaker who gives presentations to corporate groups as well as women's and minority organizations. Close to home, she is actively involved with local companies and in creating programs with Berwyn's Alderman Alicia Ruiz to give Latino residents a voice in their community.

More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year.

"It is an honor to be recognized as a female executive by this prestigious award," said Rodil, a Berwyn resident. "My hope is that other women are inspired by my story and pursue their dreams."
