PPC Flexible Packaging acquires Temkin International

BUFFALO GROVE - PPC Flexible Packaging LLC said it will acquire Payson, Utah - based packaging company Temkin International.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Temkin International, founded in 1980, is a provider of rollstock, stand-up pouches and floral sleeves. It operates manufacturing facilities in Payson and Bogota, Colombia with offices in Miami, Fla. and Toronto, Canada. Offering in-house graphics and plate making capability, the company is known for speed to market in key target segments including food, fresh produce, floral and stationary and craft. The company is AIB certified.

PPC Flexible CEO Kevin Keneally, said the acquisition will give the company a west coast and South American presence, which "provides us deeper capabilities in stand up pouch, plate making and flexographic printing."

The combined company will operate under the name PPC Flexible Packaging and its market strategy for the produce and floral segments will continue to operate under the Temkin brand.

PPC provides flexographic printing and converting of flexible films, bags and pouches. PPC is a recognized pioneer in cleanroom packaging for health care and medical applications, "better for you" snack organic brands, produce, pet food and bakery. The firm operates three manufacturing facilities in Buffalo Grove, Mission, Kan., and Rome, Ga.
