Next-generation Dunkin' opens in Rolling Meadows

A new Dunkin' coffee and doughnut shop - called the nation chain's first Chicago-area "next generation" store - opened over the weekend in Rolling Meadows.

The 2,900-square-foot store at 1921 W. Algonquin Road is one of about 50 new and remodeled Dunkin' restaurants with a design that includes two conference rooms for up to 10 people, a mobile pickup area, new state-of-the-art espresso equipment and a cold brew tap system.

The store, which also includes Baskin-Robbins, is operated by franchisee Rishad Rajabali, who runs several stores in the suburbs. He received approval from the city council last year for a special use and variances for the drive-through, an outdoor patio and signage. The property was once the site of the Bowl House restaurant.
