East Dundee could vote Nov. 26 on controversial Water Street project

The East Dundee village board could make a decision Nov. 26 on a controversial plan to shut down part of Water Street and build a residential development along the Fox River.

Trustees will have to approve two measures for the project to move forward at 1 E. Main St. The first is an agreement with Billitteri Enterprises offering tax incentives and requiring various public improvements to be completed.

The second would give developers the right of way for a portion of Water Street from Route 72 to Jackson Street.

A vote was delayed from last month so trustees could consider both items at once. Village Administrator Jennifer Johnsen warned that the decision could be pushed back again if some concerns are not adequately addressed by Nov. 26.
