Barn Owl Garden Center to celebrate 15 years

Barn Owl Garden Center, a family-owned business in Carol Stream, is celebrating its 15th year serving the local community.

To celebrate the anniversary, the center hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2. Activities planned include flower pot decorating for children, complimentary hot dogs, store discounts and a visit from the Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation to showcase live owls and birds of prey from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The original store, Will-DuPage County Farmer Services, supplied local county farmers for 46 years until James and Jacki Hudmon purchased the property and re-imagined the store in 2003.

A true family legacy, the Barn Owl Garden Center is still owned and operated by members of the Hudmon family. Since James' passing in 2011, Jacki and her son Clark have continued to grow and evolve the business.

"Our family has always believed in buying local and supporting small businesses, and we are humbled to still be providing our products and services to the DuPage County area," said Owner Jacki Hudmon.

"We love getting to know our customers and adding a personal touch to our business, and look forward to serving our community for generations to come."
