Aldi to open new Naperville store

Aldi is opening a new store at 2708 Showplace Drive in Naperville on Friday, May 25.

The new location is part of a $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022.

To celebrate the store opening, Aldi will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday at 8:25 a.m., followed by giveaways. Shoppers can sample Aldi-exclusive brand foods and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year's supply of Aldi produce.

"Our approach to grocery shopping is simple, fast and unlike anything customers will find elsewhere," said Heather Moore, Dwight division vice president for Aldi. "We're thrilled to open our newest store in Naperville, and invite even more shoppers to experience the Aldi difference, designed to make high-quality foods affordable and accessible."

Aldi said it is one of the fastest-growing retailers in the U.S. As part of the company's aggressive expansion plans, ALDI is adding 25,000 new jobs in stores, warehouses and offices nationwide by 2022. Aldi recently was named to the Forbes America's Best Large Employers list and is proud to offer staff market-leading salaries and benefits.

The retailer started in 1976 and operates more than 1,750 U.S. stores in 35 states.
