Ahlbeck & Company's conference room needs attention, upgrade

Ahlbeck & Company recently moved its accounting firm to 1665 Elk Blvd. in Des Plaines, which has posed some problems because of what the building was used for in the past.

"Relocating our accounting firm to a space formerly occupied by a beauty school is proving to be a challenge," said Thomas H. Ahlbeck.

He said the harsh lighting, poor acoustics, mismatched furniture, a lack of appropriate technology and a "haphazard color scheme," have been difficult. He added that the dysfunctional meeting space does little to promote collaboration and problem solving.

"Building strong, trust-based client relationships is important in our profession, and first impressions help set the appropriate tone," he said.

A conference room makeover would allow the company to work with clients and other professionals in a comfortable, business-appropriate environment and use presentation technology to promote internal and external communication, Ahlbeck said.

"Our clients as well as our team deserve a suitable space and a makeover is just the opportunity to transform wishes into reality," Ahlbeck said.
