Compost giveaway for Lake County residents

Lake County residents can reap the benefits of a fall compost cover for their flower or vegetable gardens.

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and the University of Illinois Extension with its master gardeners will give away compost to Lake County residents from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at the U of I Extension office, 100 Route 45, Grayslake.

There will be a maximum of 10 gallons per household. Bring two 5-gallon buckets or one 10-gallon bucket. Available while supply lasts. Call (847) 377-4954.
