Aurora church opens its doors for Greek Fest

St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church is hosting its semi-annual Aurora Greek Fest on Sept. 23-25, offering a taste of Greek hospitality, culture and food.

The festival will be noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the church, 1855 E. Fifth Ave.

The festival runs for a long weekend every May and November, attracting thousands of guests from Aurora and the surrounding suburbs.

Now in its 24th year, the Aurora Greek Fest is much more than a cultural event for the families of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church. It is an opportunity for the congregation to share who they are and what they believe.

Festival-goers are invited inside the parish to receive a "taste" of our religious heritage which was founded in Christ and passed down without interruption for nearly 2,000 years.

Admission is free and there is plenty of parking. Visit auroragreekfest.com.
