How long does it take to learn a choral masterpiece? Just one afternoon if you do it right!

Join conductor Scott Uddenberg as he races the clock to prepare a performance in just 2.5 hours in "Elmhurst Choral Union: Microwave Masterpieces."

Can he beat the clock to prepare musical stylings of American Songbook composers: Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Richard Rogers?

Singers from throughout the Chicago suburbs joined members of Elmhurst Choral Union for their last instant choir event in 2019.

The rehearsal for singers starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 142 E. Third St. in Elmhurst. There will be a break midway through.

Sign up to sing; cost is $20 for singers.

You'll need a choral score which you can purchase at Luscombe Music, 122 W. Vallette St. in Elmhurst or at the door.

Check the Elmhurst Choral Union website at elmhurstchoralunion.org/concerts to get the details.
