The Geneva Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Little Red Barn Door, 21 S. Third St., Geneva, which is their new location, on July 29. Owner Sylvia Torres (in red) along with family members held and cut the ribbon surrounded by Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns, friends, chamber board and chamber staff.
On July 20 fellow Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce members celebrated the opening of Secondhand Curves, a women's plus size resale boutique. Owner Rachel Cadie, pictured holding the scissors, opened Secondhand Curves in Bloomingdale during the pandemic in January 2021. A year later she moved to a larger location at 366 W. Army Trail Road, Suite 350. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the new Deaf Welcome Studios, located on the lower level of Fox Valley Mall in Aurora. Studio founder Theressa Dubois was joined by Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin, elected officials, and community members for the grand opening of the first-of-its-kind studio in Aurora.
