Rockin' at River Rhapsody concerts this summer

On Wednesday, June 29, Kaleidoscope Eyes, an acoustic Beatles tribute band, will perform at the River Rhapsody concert series.

The Batavia Park District's summer cultural arts concert series, which began June 15, continues into August.

This concert series features a variety of lively and eclectic musical acts that are sure to strike a chord regardless of one's taste in music.

Concerts are 7-8:30 p.m. at the Peg Bond Center band shell, 151 N. Island Ave., nestled along the Batavia Riverwalk and picturesque Depot Pond. No registration is needed for these free concerts.

Back by popular demand is the option to purchase red or white wine, provided by Acquaviva Winery, during the concerts. New this year is a special treat: an assortment of savory and sweet food options, on sale from Fernando's Street Kitchen and Koconuts Shave Ice.

Fernando's Street Kitchen will have irresistible street tacos for sale, along with some favorite Mexican fare featured at their Batavia restaurant.

The Batavia-based shave ice truck features an array of flavors, such as mango, root beer, piƱa colada, and wedding cake, along with various candy and cream toppings. Your pooch won't be left out as they also offer puppy ice.

The concert series will take a break in honor of the Fourth of July, and resume on July 13 with Serendipity, a pop/rock band from the Chicago suburbs most notable for playing a combination of popular 1960s to '80s covers, as well as current pop hits.

On July 20 Second Hand Soul Band, dynamic, seven-piece band, will be performing Motown, funk and soul.

On July 27, Nashville Electric Company plays an array of modern country hits as well as favorite country classics.

The concert series will wrap up on Aug. 3 with the Feel Good Party Band playing all of your favorite party jams from the 1960s to today.

Concerts are weather dependent. Check out the full concert lineup at bataviaparks.org/special-events.

A special thank-you goes out to the sponsors of this year's River Rhapsody concert series: Acquaviva, the Batavia Park Foundation, DePAW Canine Campus, Fernando's Street Kitchen, First Student and Koconuts Shave Ice.
