Elgin-area LWV to host 3 candidate forums
The League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area is hosting three candidate forums for the June 28 primary election.
On Tuesday, May 31, the forum will feature candidates Connie Cain and Arin Thrower for the Republican primary in the Illinois House District 66. It will be at 7 p.m. at the Dundee Township Park District's Rakow Adult Activities Center, 665 Barrington Ave., in Carpentersville.
The June 2 forum features candidates Junaid Ahmed and Raja Krishnamoorthi for the Democratic primary in the 8th Congressional District. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. There will be a meet and greet 30 minutes before the presentation, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
On June 7, the forum features candidates Deborah Allan and Franklin Ramirez for the Democratic primary for Kane County Board District 17. It starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library. There will be a meet and greet 30 minutes before the presentation at 6:30 p.m.
No forums will be held for the following Republican primary races due to insufficient candidate interest: 8th Congressional District; Kane County Clerk; Kane County Board District 9; and Kane County Board District 22.
