Clearbrook's Shining Star Ball nearly doubles fundraising goal

More than 350 people came together at the Four Seasons Chicago April 29 to honor Clearbrook, an Arlington Heights-based nonprofit that serves people with intellectual/developmental disabilities via personalized programs and services.

This was the first time since 2019 that Clearbrook was able to host this event in-person.

As the organization's largest annual fundraiser, it typically brings in $1 million in support of the mission - to empower those with disabilities to live their fullest lives possible. This year, Clearbrook's Shining Star Ball raised $1.8 million.

"This year's event was truly incredible. The energy in the room was like nothing we have ever experienced before. We had more people, raised more money and had an incredible time. This was probably the best ball Clearbrook has had in the 34 years we have done it," said Anthony Di Vittorio, Clearbrook's president and CEO.

Funds from this event were earmarked for Clearbrook's clinical services, with the goal of opening their own collaborative day program and rehabilitation facility in order to better provide speech, physical and occupational therapies to the people in its care.

This was a dream that has now been made a reality thanks to the generosity of the people who attended the black-tie gala.

Peter K. Billmeyer, co-founder and managing principal of Bespoke Commercial Real Estate, received the 2022 Shining Star Award for his generous support of Clearbrook's mission. Peter serves as the chairman of Clearbrook's Challenge Golf Classic - an event that sells out every year.

Clearbrook would like to humbly thank all of the Shining Star Ball's sponsors, volunteers, donors and attendees for their support.
