Elgin League of Women Voters to host three candidate forums for the primary election
The League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area will host three candidate forums for the June 28 primary election.
On Tuesday, May 31, the forum will feature candidates Connie Cain and Arin Thrower for the Republican primary for Illinois Representative District 66. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the Dundee Township Park District's Rakow Adult Activities Center, 665 Barrington Ave. in Carpentersville.
On Thursday, June 2, the candidates will be Junaid Ahmed and Raja Krishnamoorthi for the Democratic primary for Congressional Representative of the 8th District. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. There will be a meet-and-greet 30 minutes before the presentation which begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 7, the forum will feature candidates Deborah Allan and Franklin Ramirez for the Democratic primary for Kane County Board District 17. It starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. There will be a meet-and-greet 30 minutes before the presentation which begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.
No forums will be held for the following Republican primary races due to insufficient candidate interest: 8th Congressional District; Kane County Clerk; Kane County Board District 9; and Kane County Board District 22.
