The first installment of the 2022 Garden Learning Series presented by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and University of Illinois Extension, Lake County, will be presented virtually Feb. 9.

Programs are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month.

In the first program, U of I Extension master gardeners will give tips on how to start seeds to grow seedlings for the garden. Basic requirements, including time, light, growing medium, water and attention, will be shared and starter plants will be suggested.

Seed starting is not limited to vegetables but gardeners can also get a jump on annuals and perennials for the growing season.
