Orchestrated increases?

Several weeks ago, it was front-page news that Social Security recipients would receive an unprecedented whopping increase in benefits next year.

Now the other shoe drops. On Page 2 of a recent Daily Herald it is reported that Medicare Part B will jump by $21.60 per month next year - one of the largest increases ever - and there may be a last-minute increase, as drug prices continue to rise.

Call me cynical, but this looks orchestrated to me. Give everyone a big raise to look like the good guys and then take most of it away with a large Medicare increase and hope no one will notice.

Don't you just love big government?
