Reading Power raises over $200,000 with its golf and games fundraiser
More than 160 golfers, card players, supporters and friends joined Lake County-based nonprofit Reading Power, Inc., for its inaugural Play for Literacy Golf & Games Event on Sept. 13 at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest.
Attendees played a round of golf, learned a new card game or joined the cocktail reception on Onwentsia's patio grounds. The fun and fellowship guests shared were all in support of Reading Power's mission to foster the promise of literacy for students in Lake County and beyond.
More than $200,000 has been raised to date and will be used to "Extend, Expand, and Enhance" the literacy organization's programming for more students this academic year.
Corporate sponsors included: Guggenheim, BCU, William Blair, Packaging Corp of America, RBC, BMO Harris, Bernstein, Goldman Sachs, EMCO Chemical, Alley Company, Convergint, Follett, Grand Craft, Northern Trust, Riddell, Romano Beverage, Lake Forest Bank and Trust, Mark David Designs.
